College students hate doing laundry. We know because we've been there. Between class, work, studying, and partying, your free time is a precious commodity. Captain Laundry is the only Wash/Dry/Fold service in the area offering free pick up and delivery; plus, we can take your dry cleaning as well and deliver it back with your laundry. Here's how it works:

It may sound too good to be true, but it's not. Captain Laundry, the superhero, with the help of his sidekick, Folding Girl, travels to locations near and far to save people from the depths of dirty laundry. We believe that just because you're away from home, you don't have to do it all on your own. With a little help from The Captain, your clothes will be sparkling clean and ready to wear.

What services does Captain Laundry provide?

Captain Laundry offers pick up and delivery for full-service garment care. Our professional wash & fold service includes a two-day turn around time. All loads are individually separated and professionally washed. so there's no need to worry about your clothes being mixed up with someone else's. Our customers can also take advantage of our dry cleaning service.

How can I sign up?

How do I get my laundry picked up and delivered?

All you have to do is place an online pickup order or call Captain Laundry at 888-98-CAPTAIN.

Captain Laundry will work with you to schedule an individual 15 minute window during the weekly campus pickup times. The driver will call you when s/he is downstairs for your laundry. Just bring your order to the entrance of your dorm or apartment building and repeat the process the next day to receive the delivery of your clean laundry.We will deliver your bag at the time of the first pickup.

How do I make sure that every item that is in my bag comes back to me?

Every customer has the option of including and inventory form to the bag with a description of what is included and any special requests for your service. Often, if an article is missing there is a good chance that a roommate put it in their laundry bag by mistake. Dorm rooms get messy and roommates' clothes get mixed up easily.

Inventory sheets can be accessed online or are given to customers when requested at the time of pick up. A copy of the inventory sheet will be kept by the customer and a copy will be kept by Captain Laundry. Captain Laundry will check the inventory sheet to ensure that every item is there before and after each service. If there is an item in question, then please contact a customer service representative within 3 days of service. Captain Laundry keeps digital video surveillance of all activity in our service plant. In the rare event that an item is determined missing, the customer will be reimbursed according to the Fair Claims Guide created by the International Fabricare Institute.

How much laundry will I be able to give to Captain Laundry per week?

Captain Laundry offers different pound plans to fit your laundry needs. You can select from a 10, 15, 20, or 25 pound plan. However, you can give Captain Laundry more laundry than your plan allowance. Extra pounds will be billed at $1.10 per pound, which covers the cost of using additional machines. You will be e-mailed a monthly statement with your usage summary. Or, upon request, Captain Laundry will weigh out your bag and let you know if you've gone over your limit. You can pay the additional charge, or upgrade your plan to fit your revised laundry needs. The Captain likes to keep prices and stress levels nice and low.

What are examples of a load of laundry that is 10, 15, 20 or 25 pounds?

Do my unused laundry pounds roll over?

Your unused laundry pounds do no roll over from week to week and semester to semester. If you miss a week, you are allowed to use twice your plan limit the following week.

Can I use the service twice in one week?

If you missed a week of service, you can use Captain Laundry twice in the same week. You will be charged for overage if the combined weight of your orders exceeds twice your weekly plan amount. We will also make exceptions if you tell us in advance that you're going to miss a week in the future.

What if I have special laundry needs?

Captain Laundry is aware that our customers may have special needs and requests. For those customers who prefer unscented detergent, it will be provided upon request at no extra cost. All laundry orders are washed with Tide Detergent and Downy Fabric Softener. If you prefer, we are happy to wash your clothes with any detergent you would like to provide. Just write your special needs on the inventory sheet and let your Captain Laundry driver know what you would like.

What if I have delicates that require special attention?

For those customers who are washing delicates we will make sure their laundry receives appropriate attention. Delicates should be placed in a separate plastic bag inside your laundry bag. If there are any other special needs you have just fill out the inventory sheet.

Do I have to separate my lights and darks before pickup?

No way! You have enough to worry about. Lights, darks, whites, towels...Leave the sorting to us. All you need to do is throw your all you laundry in a bag and we will pick it up for you and take care of the rest. We separate white, lights, darks, and towels for each laundry order submitted.

Our only requirements are for you to place delicates and Drycleaning in a separate plastic bag. If you will be utilizing our drycleaning service on a regular basis we will provide you a separate Captain Laundry Dry Cleaning Bag.

How do you make sure that someone doesn't get my laundry bag by accident?

Each Captain Laundry laundry bag comes equipped with a bar coded I.D. card attached to the drawstring with your contact information. During pickup and delivery times all you have to do is show your photo ID or license to one of our drivers and your customer identity will be verified from our list.
